The Distillery[]

Springbank Distillery, was founded by the Mitchell clan in 1828. It's located on the edge of Cambeltown Loch in the West of Scotland about three hours drive from Glasgow. Springbank continues to hew to traditional hand methods in all aspects of production, from barley malting to bottling. The malt itself is distilled multiple times. This attention to detail is a key reason why the whiskies from Springbank are so highly regarded.

Springbank produces three different malt whiskies; -- the lightly-peated Springbank in several ages, the unpeated triple distilled Hazelburn and the heavily-peated double distilled Longrow.

In 2000, the company bought the defunct Glengyle distillery and will be bottling the Kilkerran single malt from it.

The Springbank 18[]

A classic, full-bodied Cambletown single malt. It's lightly-peated, double distilled and aged in bourbon/sherry casks for 13–20 years. It's rusty copper color and rich, creamy nose evolves to reveal vanilla, marzipan and ripe fruit. It opens up to reveal sweet liquorice and aniseed flavour and finishes sweet, with a chocolate and smokey flavour.
